The menu of the Adrian Mole collection by Sue Townsend begins with "The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13¾" and progresses through to "Adrian Mole: The Prostrate Years". This places the events before Weapons of Mass Destruction even though they were published in book form afterwards. Susan Lillian "Sue" Townsend was a British novelist, best known as the author of the Adrian Mole series of books. A successful stage production ran at the Wyndham's Theatre, London, in 1984-1986, that included Simon Gipps-Kent and followed with a road tour.
