I found that the strongest trait of this book were its characters: Liz and Wes definitely moved the story forward and were just the classic definition of “enemies-to-lovers”. Expanding on the world he created in his children’s story The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings is full of rich pageantry, a ginormous cast of characters, and an alternate history of war between different species building across centuries. Teen characters make joking references to sexual activity that isn't actually taking place, such as grinding, banging, and boot-knocking.
