About this deal

impulses you are completely incorrect, Equivalence is used 99% of the time for people to rubbish other systems then broadcast misinformation about Aperture, if you are trying to tell me that isn’t the case then you are sadly deluded. The lens is incredibly easy to use. Simply attach it to your camera body of choice and go have fun. As far as telephoto lenses go, it is straightforward. The Fujifilm 70-300mm lens has the added benefit of the focus limiting switch to achieve the swiftest autofocus, whether you are out in the wilderness or in the studio. I love the convenience of the aperture ring on the lens. The aperture can still be controlled on the camera body for anyone who doesn’t enjoy this feature. The zoom ring is effortless and allows for multiple perspectives to be achieved within seconds.

The XF 100-400mm OIS is older, bigger, more expensive and over twice as heavy. I'd get it if I wanted a more serious or longer lens. It can be slightly sharper in the lab as well. Numerous P&S cameras will say they have an 8x or 12x zoom, implying that the most extended focal length is 8x or 12x longer than the big focal length. A 16mm focal size camera at its widest setting and an 8x zoom would then have a 128mm focal length at its most extended focal length. This phrasing has no importance on DSLR cameras. I’ll tell you how I work and it’s really really easy, can I find evidence of a product being used to create stunning images in a variety of scenarios, does this stunning image rubbish people’s negative opinions about said product... if so then the negative comment is meaningless.Fuji has an unfortunate tendency of making names for their lenses that are essentially a feature list, so we’ll just refer to the lens as the XF70-300 in this review. But, just in case you don’t “speak Fuji”, here’s what all of that means: The 70-200 has a fixed wide aperture that becomes faster than the 70-300 at 85mm and is a full stop faster at 200mm. Filters last a lifetime, so you may as well get the best. The Hoya HD3 stays cleaner than the others since it repels oil and dirt. Even though the 70-300mm lens can’t face other bigger and pricier fixed aperture lenses, it still performs very well at its size and cost. However, the 70-300mm lens alludes to its natural and amicable foundation. It is particularly significant to tamper with the different focal lengths and the subsequent Out Of Focus (OOF) impacts. The Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ID-ED VR lens features two “ED” (extra-low dispersion) glass elements that are used in all Nikon professional lenses, providing higher contrast, lower chromatic aberration and higher resolution, due to less air bubbles and glass deformities within the glass elements. In addition, the lens sports Nikon’s Vibration Reduction II (VR II) technology, giving up to 4 full stops of advantage over non-VR lenses at low shutter speeds. This makes the 70-300mm VR particularly useful for hand-held shooting while hiking and traveling. Autofocus is practically silent, thanks to the Silent Wave Motor (AF-S) within the lens.

The first thing you notice about the Fujifilm XF 70-300mm f4-5.6 R LM OIS WR is just how lightweight it is for a super-telephoto lens. There are many 70-300mm lenses on the market, but not all of them have weather-sealing like this one does - as denoted by the WR designation. This is a perfect example of the advantages of the APS-C format, as used across the Fujifilm X-Series - the smaller sensor and associated smaller image circle allow reduced lens proportions. If this lens were constructed for use with a Full Frame camera it would be significantly larger and heavier. This lens works great with most 35mm autofocus cameras, but won't work with any manual-focus cameras.Thankfully, flare and ghosting really aren't an issue for this lens. We didn't see much of either, and a really big, quite effective lens hood is included with the product bundle to help keep the sun off the front of the lens. The focal length remains the same, paying attention to the size of the sensor; the focal length is steady. Thus, the 70-300mm is a 70-300mm on an FX camera, a DX camera, a Medium Format camera, or even a Large Format view camera. The 70-300mm lens improves work at vignetting than its archetype. However, remember that this lens has worked for an FX sensor camera. So it’s a bigger front lens combined with a 67mm channel size.

The chart below shows the focal length that triggers a maximum aperture decrease to that listed in the column heading above for each lens. The lens does extend quite a bit when zoomed to 300mm, making it fairly conspicuous. This isn't an issue for wildlife or sports photography, but when shooting on the street it does tend to draw quite a bit of attention. However this is also the case for pro-level lenses in other systems (including the Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM, for example) so can be seen as a new standard in mirrorless zoom lens design. Distortion is clearly being corrected in the camera and this correction cannot be switched off, but the result is a near rectilinear lens. There is a small amount of residual barrel distortion, measuring -0.07% at 70mm, -0.06% at 100mm, -0.26% at 200mm and -0.05% at 300mm. There are a couple of other lenses you might want to consider if you are looking at the 70-300 IS ... The very best protective filter is the 72mm Hoya multicoated HD3 UV which uses hardened glass and repels dirt and fingerprints. This lens gets very close for a 300mm lens, so close that you probably won't need a separate macro lens. As I showed at the top, It's very sharp and contrasty at every setting. You won't see any difference in real-world shooting from the 70-200/4 G, 70-200/2.8 GM or 100-400 GM, although people trying to sell you these lenses will try to get you to believe there is a difference. Slow is relative of course - the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens apertures are typical for a consumer telephoto zoom lens. This is a great device that can fill different needs. It is a good option for wildlife, just as sports photography. Fortunately, any photographer paying some attention to the ability level can deal with it effortlessly.
