About this deal

Accessories include: two eyepieces (20mm and 10mm), erect image star diagonal, a red LED flashlight, StarPointer Pro red dot finderscope, and an integrated smartphone adapter. The erect image diagonal ensures that all of the images are upright when you are looking through the telescope. Without it, refractor telescopes naturally display images upside down due to the way they collect light and process images. This also makes it so you can technically use this telescope as a terrestrial scope where you can take a look at things right here on Earth as well. Just make sure never to look at the sun if you are using it during the day!

Red LED flashlight - Stowed in the center of the mount head, the flashlight can be used to gently illuminate the accessory tray or can be removed for use as a spotlight when needed. The 1.25″ star diagonal that comes with the Inspire 100AZ is also mostly made of plastic. It has an Amici erecting prism design, which makes sure that the images are correct both left to right and up to down. Unless you plan on frequently reading signs and snooping on people’s reading material from a distance, this feature is essentially worthless and comes at a cost, too. Due to the way it works, any Amici erecting prism produces annoying bright spikes, glare, and additional chromatic aberration on bright targets—which doesn’t help when there are already glare issues with the dew shield and chromatic aberration from the objective lens itself to begin with. The Zhumell Z100 and Sky-Watcher Heritage 100P technically have slightly less light-gathering ability than the Inspire 100AZ, but don’t suffer from chromatic aberration and are much easier to aim. The shorter focal length and resultingly wider field of view helps, too.

The lens cap has an integrated smartphone adapter built into it. Place your smartphone against the rubberized friction surface on the outside of the cap so your camera is viewing through the imaging port. Secure the smartphone using the two adjustable bungee cords. The inside of the lens cap has a fitting that secures to your eyepiece using two set screws. Voila! You are now ready to take high power images through the telescope. The Moon may be very bright in the night sky. The Moon’s big, bright disc can blind StarSense Explorer so that it cannot locate objects near the Moon. To see if this is the problem, try selecting another object to view in a different part of the night sky. Also, keep in mind that any deep-sky objects will appear washed out when the Moon is bright in the night sky. The best nights to observe are when the Moon is in or near the New Moon phase.

Beginners would have a lot of fun with this feature, although a phone isn’t sensitive enough for deep-sky objects. For this process to work, it’s important that your camera’s lens is aligned centrally with the eyepiece and the adjustable elastic straps on the dust cap make doing that easy.Next, the dust cap is placed over the eyepiece and held in position with two thumbscrews. Saturn’s rings are easy to spot with the Inspire 100AZ, as is the Cassini Division within them and a few cloud bands on the planet itself, though they are not particularly colourful and appear as purely symmetrical strips. A few of Saturn’s moons can also be seen, with Titan being the brightest among them. Rhea, Tethys, and Dione are easy to spot; Enceladus and Iapetus are tougher. The object may be in the telescope’s eyepiece, but it could be too dim to see. This is more likely when observing faint deep sky objects from light polluted or moonlit skies. In this case, we recommend going to darker skies or waiting until a New Moon to get a better view. For the most part you can add your smartphone with its case on, but if you have an extra large case you may need to take it off for it to fit the adapter. Additional Accessories

The Bad

The telescope is simple to set up, and you can start observing right away. You can put together the telescope and its accessories in a matter of minutes, even if it's your first time. The telescope's height can be adjusted, and its tripod legs allow you to set it down on elevated surfaces like a picnic table. The complete telescope equipment is ideal for carrying along on your travels in life or for last-minute viewing sessions.
